See a History of Changes to the Syllabus and Course Schedule

April 20, 2020 | 1 Minute Read

Many classes have multiple people working on them, and it's not uncommon for more than one person to make changes in a class CoursePlus site. The problem with multiple people working on the same site is that sometimes you don't know who changed what, or why.

Some tools in CoursePlus, such as the Quiz Generator and Page Builder, have tools that show you a history of who changed what, and when the change was made. We're pleased to announce that two more tools in CoursePlus now show this same history: the Syllabus Builder and Schedule Builder tools.

The Syllabus Builder tool shows a history of who edited which section of a course syllabus, and when. It shows if sections were added or removed from the syllabus, if changes to contact information were made, who reordered the display of sections in the syllabus, who changed the class location, and when changes were submitted to the JHSPH course system for review and approval.

The Schedule Builder tool (used for creating the main content page/schedule in fully online courses and some on-campus course websites) shows a history of each individual item on the schedule, who made a change, when the change was made, and what, specifically, was changed including old and new values.

The history of changes in both tools is available by clicking "History" at the top of the page in each tool. It's important to note that the history only goes back to March 1, 2020 in the Schedule Builder tool, and April 1, 2020 in the Syllabus Builder tool.
