JHU Quality Matters Subscription and Workshop

June 27, 2013 | 2 Minute Read

JHU recently subscribed to Quality Matters (QM), an organization promoting excellence in the design and delivery of online and blended learning courses (https://www.qualitymatters.org/). Our subscription enables us to offer faculty workshops in QM online quality design, hold internal reviews of mature courses, and access the QM rubric. AAP is pleased to offer another round of the "Applying the Quality Matters Rubric" workshop for faculty and staff who are involved with online or web-supported courses. This onsite workshop focuses on how the QM rubric is applied, what defines a quality course according to research-based best practices, and how courses are reviewed by QM process. It provides foundational knowledge and experience in applying the rubric to previously run online courses. The workshop is recommended for program directors and support staff who are interested in the QM process, in addition to experienced faculty who have taught online or web-supported courses. Please see the onsite workshop information and interest survey below.

The Applying the Quality Matters Rubric (APPQMR) workshop is QM's flagship workshop on the QM Rubric and the process of using the QM Rubric to review online courses. It is intended for a broad audience, including, but not limited to, JHU faculty, instructional designers, administrators, and adjunct instructors who wish to understand more about the QM Rubric and process of course review. The APPQMR is the prerequisite for the Peer Reviewer Course, which is the required course to become a QM Peer Reviewer.
