A New, Improved CTL Help Site Is About to Launch

August 08, 2022 | 2 Minute Read

The CTL Help team provides technical support for CoursePlus. The CTL Help site provides a critical piece of the faculty, staff, and student CoursePlus experience. The CTL Help site provides a long list of frequently asked questions (FAQs) and is home to an in-depth guide for using CoursePlus.

The current CTL Help site has been around for a number of years. While the in-depth guide for CoursePlus on the CTL Help site is regularly updated, it’s not very easy to search. The same goes for frequently asked questions (FAQs) and other resources.

The CTL Help team felt it was time to move to a more robust infrastructure that supplies not only a better experience on the CTL Help site but also better tools for organizing and responding to help requests that come in. A new solution was selected, and the CTL Help team has been using the new help request system since January, 2022. It’s been a fairly transparent process to everyone who uses CoursePlus.

It’s now time to launch the new CTL Help site. The new CTL Help site features:

  • Vastly improved search through the in-depth CoursePlus guide and frequently asked questions
  • A full overhaul of the in-depth CoursePlus guide
  • Up-to-date coverage of all current CoursePlus functionality
  • Example workflows for complex tools like the Quiz Generator and Gradebook
  • A modern, clean interface
  • An improved experience on mobile devices

Here’s a look at the new CTL Help site home page:

Search is front and center in the new CTL Help site. That’s because the search is powered by the same technology as the help search for companies like Zoom, Udacity, and Grubhub. You can find relevant answers to your questions faster with this new search. There’s no more clicking and clicking to drill down into topics in the in-depth CoursePlus guide. Articles in the guide have also been rewritten to provide a more consistent use of language and visual highlighting for action items like buttons and links.

We hope that you find the new CTL Help site to be a big improvement over the old one. If you have questions about the new site, CTL Help is happy to answer your questions.
