Having Trouble Opening PDF Files?

In the last six weeks, we've received reports from a number of students and some faculty who have had problems opening PDF files from both CoursePlus and online courses. If this happens to you, we strongly recommend that you update your Adobe Reader to the latest version of the software. This has resolved the problem in every case we've seen so far.

A security patch for Windows released in June has caused issues with older versions of the Adobe Reader application. If you are using an older version of the Adobe Reader application, you may have difficulty opening PDF files from some Web sites.

Adobe Reader is an increasingly popular vector of attack for malicious hackers, and it is strongly recommended by security experts (and Adobe itself) that you always update the application to the latest version.
