Who Is Your Course Instructional Designer?

December 05, 2023 | 1 Minute Read

Instructional designers from the Center for Teaching and Learning are invaluable members of many course teams. They provide expertise in course design, delivery, and evaluation. All traditionally online courses at the Bloomberg School of Public Health are assigned an instructional designer, and many on-campus courses use their services.

Instructional design assignments do change from time to time, however. If you haven’t worked with someone in a year or so, it can be difficult to remember the instructional designer assigned to your course.

If your course has an assigned instructional designer, that information is now displayed in two places in your course website. First, this information is displayed in the Faculty Tools Quick Jump box on the course home page:

The course instructional designer's name with a link to send them email is displayed at the bottom of the Faculty Tools Quick Jump Box on the course home page.

Second, the instructional designer name and contact is also displayed in the “Communication Tools” section of the main Faculty Tools page in your course website:

The course instructional designer's name with a link to send them email is displayed at the bottom of the Communication Tools section of the main faculty tools page.

If your course does not have a CTL instructional designer assigned, no information will appear in these spaces. If you’d like to work with a CTL instructional designer, please reach out to them right away!

As always, if you have questions about this new feature, please reach out to the CTL Help team, and we will be happy to answer any questions you might have.
