Resolution to LiveTalk Archive Playback Issues

December 10, 2009 | 1 Minute Read

Throughout the second term, some LiveTalk archives have had playback issues where the archive would play normally until around 30-35 minutes into the archive, at which point the audio for the archive would continue, but the chat and slides would not update properly. We have been working with JHSPH Information Systems and Adobe (the makers of the software behind LiveTalks) on this issue, and we believe that the issue causing this problem has been fixed.

This problem resolution will only affect LiveTalks recorded after November 20, 2009, when the change was made which should resolve the issue. Any LiveTalk archive created on or before November 20, 2009, that currently exhibits this playback issue will continue to have this playback issue. The issue involves problems during the creation of the archive itself, and once the archive is created, we cannot alter it.

We apologize for the inconvenience this issue has caused students in a number of online courses. If you continue to run in to this problem for any LiveTalk archive created after November 20, 2009, please contact DEHelp immediately.
