April 2026 CoursePlus Update: Reset Quizzes Yourself, and Export Rubric-Based Grades/Feedback

April 28, 2026 | 1 Minute Read

Two of the changes in this month's update address things faculty have been asking us about for a while — one that used to require a support ticket, and one that used to require manual workarounds.

You Can Reset a Quiz Attempt Yourself

Previously, if a student hit a technical issue mid-quiz or needed a supervised retake, the only way to reset their quiz attempt was to email CTL and wait for someone to clear it. Depending on timing, that could leave a student stuck for hours.

You can now do this yourself from the quiz management page. It takes a few seconds, and the student can get back to the quiz right away.

You Can Export Gradebook Rubric Information to Excel

When you grade with rubrics, the scores and responses are stored in CoursePlus, but pulling them out used to mean copying things by hand. Gradebook now offers a direct Excel export for rubric-based grades and feedback.

This is useful for reviewing how a cohort performed on specific criteria, sharing results with co-instructors or TAs, or sending records to a program office.

Single-Answer Multiple-Choice Questions Use Radio Buttons; In-Lecture Quizzes More Accessible

Multiple-choice questions that only accept one answer now show radio buttons instead of checkboxes, so students can’t accidentally pick two options. Screen reader and keyboard users get better cues during in-lecture quizzes as well.

Gradebook Setup Page Rebuilt

The Gradebook setup page was rewritten on a current JavaScript framework. It looks and behaves the same, but will be significantly easier to maintain and improve moving forward.

Other Fixes

  • “Time Spent on Quiz” Excel report now shows correct dates for all students.
  • Lecture duration times in PageBuilder display in the right format again.
  • Discussion Forum topics set to inherit visibility from a parent category now actually do.
  • Draft Coach handles temporary AI service outages more gracefully.
