Quick Look: Highlighting Assignments in Schedule Builder
CoursePlus Quick Looks is a series of video-based posts that demonstrate some of the intermediate to advanced features of CoursePlus. The videos assume a basic level of knowledge with CoursePlus (signing in, setting up a site, adding files to the Online Library).
One of the major goals of the transition of all CoursePlus sites from the Class Sessions format to the Schedule Builder format is to make all assignments in a class clearly visible and represented on the course schedule. A major student complaint of the Class Sessions format was that assignment due dates were often buried in the text describing a class session. The Schedule Builder format makes it easy for you to highlight all assignments in a class in a way that provides email reminders to students on the due date for an assignment.
This eight-minute video covers, in depth, how use Schedule Builder to add Drop Boxes, Quizzes, and Signup Sheets with due dates to your course schedule. The same principles apply for any other kind of due date in your class. Making all assignment due dates clear and visible on the schedule makes life simpler for your students and allows them to focus on learning new content instead of academic administration.
This video is a segment of a longer video showing a complete conversion from Class Sessions to Schedule Builder format.
