Quick Look: Adding a Zoom Link to Schedule Builder
CoursePlus Quick Looks is a series of video-based posts that demonstrate some of the intermediate to advanced features of CoursePlus. The videos assume a basic level of knowledge with CoursePlus (signing in, setting up a site, adding files to the Online Library).
A class that normally meets on campus will sometimes need to post a link to a Zoom meeting with a guest speaker, or when the primary faculty are not able to come to campus. Courses with the “virtual” designation (.71 course sections at the Bloomberg School of Public Health) meet entirely on Zoom, for live, real-time class sessions instead of in a physical classroom.
The Class Sessions format, which is being retired in favor of the Schedule Builder format, conveniently allows you to specify a Zoom link for a given class session. As the Class Sessions tool goes away, it’s important to know how to add a link to a Zoom session to your schedule in the Schedule Builder format.
This three-minute video covers, in depth, how to add a link to a Zoom session to Schedule Builder. This video presents only one possible route to achieve this goal. Schedule Builder provides a lot of flexibility, and other options for adding Zoom links are detailed in the CoursePlus faculty guide.
This video is a segment of a longer video showing a complete conversion from Class Sessions to Schedule Builder format.
