No Official Support (Yet) for Windows 8

With the release of Windows 8 from Microsoft, some of you may be wondering if this new operating system is supported for online courses, CoursePlus, or the University in general. At this point in time, the answer is no, it is not. University and General JHSPH support for Windows 8 may not come for some time. In terms of online courses and CoursePlus, we have done some testing and found very few problems with Internet Explorer in Classic Desktop mode. A major issue with Internet Explorer in the new "Windows UI" mode (the one with all the tiles and bright, clean graphics that doesn't look anything like the traditional Windows desktop) is that content which requires the Flash plug-in will not play. You must useĀ Internet Explorer in Classic Desktop mode in order to view things like course lectures and participate in Adobe Connect sessions.
