A Change to the Handling of LiveTalk Slides

January 06, 2022 | 1 Minute Read

For many years, we've asked faculty or an instructional team member to upload the slides for LiveTalks to CoursePlus prior to the start of each LiveTalk. We have decided to remove this step as it is no longer necessary. This is because most faculty teams are joining LiveTalks remotely, sharing the content from their own computers. We do not anticipate this trend reverting in the future.

As a result of this change in practice, we are removing the “Provide Slides and Details for your LiveTalk” form that appeared on the LiveTalk page one week prior to a scheduled session. This change went into effect January 6, 2022. However, we still recommend that you share a copy of your slides with someone else on your instructional team (co-faculty, TA) just in case there’s a problem and you cannot get online for your LiveTalks. The Multimedia team who run technical support can’t share slides on your behalf. In addition, if you have any special requests or concerns about your LiveTalks that you feel still need to be communicated to Multimedia in advance, please contact your Instructional Designer and/or CTL Help.
