BRIAN KLAAS: Hi there. This is Brian Klaas. And in this video, we're going to take a look at the Student Activity tab in the new peer assessment tool. Now this view of student activity has been completely overhauled. It is vastly faster than the old peer assessment tool when you're looking at student activity. So let's walk through what's new, different, and changed. So this particular peer assessment is a randomly assigned peer assessment where students are randomly assigned to evaluate the work of three of their peers. So that's why it looks this way. If groups were used, group titles and the students who are in those groups would also be listed on this page. So this page is available to you once the peer assessment opens to students. Before students have been assigned to one another to assess one another, this page has no information on it. It's only once the peer assessment opens, students have been assigned to each other that you'll see this kind of information. So you have a list of students here on the left. And if I click on an individual student name, I can see the students who assessed this student. I can also see the points that they were given for there as well. Now, this data is also visible to you in this Assessments Complete column here. So if there's a check mark under Assessments Complete for a given student, that means that student completed all the assessments they were assigned to do. And there's another column right next to it, Assessed by Others. And that means that the student in question was assessed by everyone who was assigned to assess them. So, really, by the time a peer assessment closes, it's over and done with, there should be green check marks in both of these columns, both All Assessments Complete, indicating that that student completed all of their assessments, as well as Assessed by Others, indicating that everyone who was assigned to that student did their assessments. So in addition to being able to click on a student's name and see who assessed that student, you can also take a look at the student view for that particular student, meaning you can go see what their gateway page looks like when they sign in, click on the link to the peer assessment, what it looks like to them. So that's the student view. So you can see both how who was assigned to a student by clicking on their name, and you can see who the student was assigned to by clicking on the student view. You can also click on All Student Data to Excel, and that will give you an export of all of the student data, including each student, who they are assigned to, and how they filled out individual rubrics. Now if everybody has assessed a student, you'll see a final score value here next to their name so that you can then see that final score and adjust that final score as needed. Once the peer assessment closes, you can also see a report of the aggregate results for that student. So if I want to see what all the other students had to say about this student, I can click on Report. And it brings up the rubric in the report view exactly as students will see it when they get their email version of this report. When you're all done, when you're ready to send out messages, this is what the report will look like. It's slightly different format to the rubric, but it's much, much, much better designed for email consumption, which is how students will see this. So I can scroll through this report. I can see what students gave, what value, how many points on a particular rubric to that student and if they had any comments as well. And I can scroll all the way down to the very end, and I can manually adjust this score if that's something that I want to do. Like, for example, I review everybody's feedback, and I say, you know what, this wasn't entirely fair. I'll give this student a few more points. You can make that manual adjustment here. You can also see students who have not finished their assessments by clicking on the unfinished assessments button. If I click on unfinished assessments, it shows me students who have not completed their assessment. In this case this class, it's a large class with lots of students who haven't done their work yet. I can say Select All and then scroll all the way to the bottom and click on Send Reminders. And this will send a quick reminder to the student that they still need to complete their assessments in this peer assessment. There's also a History button over here that will show you the history of those reminders that were sent to that student. So this view of Student Activity populates in a sort of slightly delayed manner. It's not updated exactly in real time. It's updated certainly every hour with new student data and new aggregate student data as it comes in. Once the peer assessment is closed to students, then all changes are effectively in real time. So if all the students are done, I can then send results to students by clicking on their names that I want to send results to. I can only send results to people who have scores given to them or I can click the button up here at the top of the checkbox column, and that will select all of the students who will receive their results. And when I'm ready to email the results, again, that report view that I showed you that shows the aggregate results for that student, I can click on Email Student Results. You have the option to CC yourself in case you want copies of all those messages or not. And then if you click Send Score Emails, those results, those result reports will be sent via email in the next few minutes. So that is the Student Activity view. It is streamlined and simplified compared to the other version. But we hope that it provides you the information you need in a more easy to use and easy to follow format.
